March Monthly Meeting

When: 3/26/2015 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Where:
CPCC Harris Conference Center, 3216 CPCC Harris Campus Drive, Charlotte NC 28208
AFP-Charlotte's Morning Forum Series returns for 2015 with three concurrent sessions on March 26 tackling topics that are often requested for programming:
  • The Small Shop Dilemma: Balance of Acquisition vs. Donor Retention
It is an age old question for development professionals in small shops what is the right mix of acquisition and retention activity that will achieve optimum returns.  This session will provide insight into how to answer a question that is unique to each organization's current conditions. Capstone Advancement Partners' Brigitte Peck will lead this discussion of how best to align your annual fundraising strategy with the resources of a small shop while making sure you don't burn out in the process!
  • Constructing an Annual Fund Campaign
With new engagement tools and strategies for connecting with would-be donors, the classic annual fund strategy is ripe for an overhaul. In a session moderated by Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation's Annual Fund Manager Arden McLaughlin, guest speakers from the Urban Ministry Center and other local organizations will present effective models that get the job done, and ways to continually assess for improvement.
  • Designing (and Implementing!) a Monthly Donor Program
Most organizations have them but few feel they are truly maximizing the potential for monthly giving for committed donors.  In a session framed and facilitated by PMA Consulting's Anna Glass, this session will explore best practices for creating monthly givers, with hands-on examples presented by Carolina Raptor Center's Director of Development Robert Touchstone and Charlotte Ballet's Annual Giving Manager Megan Dailer.
