November Speaker of Significance
Lunch Session w/ Kay Sprinkel Grace

When: 11/02/2016 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: CPCC Harris Conference Center, 3216 CPCC Harris Campus Drive, Charlotte NC 28208

CREATING PRODUCTIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
WITH YOUR BOARD

Join us on November 12th for the final Speaker of Significance for 2016 Kay Sprinkel Grace as we explore the importance of working productively with your Board of Directors. If you've attend the AFP International Conference, you know what a phenomenal speaker Kay is, and she will not disappoint as she discusses this topic, which is the core idea from her seminal work, "The Ultimate Board Member's Book" (Emerson & Church, 3rd edition 2009).

"Boards that work, work." Working productively with your Board is the single most important accomplishment for creating a culture of philanthropy and a successful donor development and fundraising program. Productive relationships begin with understanding basic requirements for board service and involvement, extends to learning what motivates the board member and culminates in matching that motivation with what is needed in your organization for it to move forward. Kay Sprinkel Grace will discuss her "AAA" (Ambassador, Advocate, Asker) program for board engagement, a proven program used by organizations across the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Since building positive board relationships is at the core of this session, we strongly recommend bringing your CEO/Executive Director, Board Chair and/or Executive Committee to get the maximum benefit for your organization. Register early to ensure your space(s), as we anticipate this session will sell out!

NEW AFP Charlotte Member Forum

As an added benefit for our members, we've created a Facebook forum exclusively for members of the AFP Charlotte Chapter!

The purpose of this members-only group is to provide a forum for members to ask questions, give feedback, provide advice, etc. for others in the group. We all have varying levels of expertise and experience, so I'm sure we can all benefit from the wealth of knowledge within this group!  It's also a great opportunity to network with your fundraising peers.
