Letter from the President

Happy New Year!

I am honored to be your AFP Charlotte Chapter President for 2017 and it is a privilege to serve you in this role.  AFP has been an integral part of my life since I joined in 2006. I had just started my first full-time fundraising job and my wise supervisor instructed me to join AFP and I am so glad she did!

Ten plus years later, I have loved being a part of this chapter. AFP has given me so much-- outstanding professional development and education, a network of peers that are an invaluable resource, and many great friends.

The chapter exists to serve our members. Please join us for our monthly education programs, socials, and affinity groups. Participate in the mentoring program and attend the NC AFP Philanthropy Conference. Get involved by joining a committee and help shape our chapter.  Read our newsletter, like us on Facebook, join our members' only forum and check out our website. You will be glad you did!

I look forward to seeing you at an AFP event very soon!

With gratitude,

Stephanie Stenglein, CFRE
President, AFP Charlotte

New Professional Goals?
Check out AFP Charlotte's
Mentoring Program

AFP Charlotte's Mentoring Program is an excellent resource for both new and experienced development professionals.

  • Do you have skills you'd like to strengthen?
  • Would you enjoy developing a relationship with a more seasoned professional?
  • Do you enjoy coaching and sharing insights with others?

We're recruiting both mentees and mentors that would like to participate in the 2017 program. Open to all AFP members with 2+ years' experience, the 2017 program will run April-December. Participants can expect one-on-one meetings with their mentor/mentee as well as select group activities for the 2017 Class. Applications and more information available soon on the AFP Charlotte website.

In the meantime, email Karen Beach (kbeach@cmlibrary.org) with questions or to indicate your early interest in participating.
