IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access)
As fundraisers, we are positioned at the intersection of the haves and have nots. At this moment in history, we have an opportunity, and a responsibility, to examine how we may contribute to or impede the growth of a more equitable society. The I.D.E.A Committee hopes this short resource list ignites inquiry and affirms expansion to engage and challenge what we may know about race, equity, and philanthropy in modernity.

Congratulations to our newest CFREs Sarah Lanners Avinger and Megan Mitcham!

We hope you'll join Sarah and Megan and earn your CFRE. The Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential is the only accredited, globally recognized certification for fundraising professionals. It is how today's fundraiser shows accountability, service, and commitment to making a difference for good. We believe the CFRE credential is vital to a fundraiser's professional growth and that it sets the standard for ethical practice in the sector.

AFP Charlotte is an approved provider of continuing education credits for the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential. To begin your CFRE credential process, go to CFRE.org to open your account.

Member Spotlight
Tenille Alexander-Banner

Tenille Banner, Director of Corporate and Community Engagement at Safe Alliance, didn't set out to become a professional fundraiser. Three years ago, she had the opportunity to turn her passion for helping others into a career in Advancement and hasn't looked back. Tenille quickly realized that AFP Charlotte would be a great resource as she began her professional fundraising career and became a member in May 2018.

Since joining AFP, Tenille has been an active AFP member. She's attended monthly programs, has taken the Fundamentals of Fundraising course at the NC Philanthropy Conference, and currently serves on the National Philanthropy Day and Mentoring Committees.

Click here to read more about Tenille's professional journey, what she's gained from AFP, and what she hopes the future has in store for AFP Charlotte.
