NPD Lifetime Achievement Award: Michael Rose

AFP Charlotte celebrates the 40 plus years that Michael Rose has dedicated to Charlotte's society.

After 27 years as President of Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, Michael Rose recently retired. He was one of the founders of the AFP Chapter in Charlotte and a national leader in the development of professional organizations for fundraisers. He was a pioneer in the development of the CFRE certification the highest standard that a development professional can achieve.

Carolinas HealthCare System, and many more organizations, honored him when it was announced that he established the Michael L. Rose Endowment For Excellence in Children's Healthcare. It annually supports the Excellence Award(s) to front-line nursing, therapy and child-life staff at Levine Children's Hospital. It provides the opportunity to pursue meaningful and
continuing education opportunities.

Michael has engaged community leaders including: the Levine Children's Hospital's Administrative Team, Margaret & Smoky Bissell, The Dickson Foundation, the Tansukh Ganatra Family, the Heineman Foundation of Charlotte, Linda and Rick Hendrick, Sandra and Leon Levine and Christa Overcash.

In addition, with Michael's passion, many fundraisers in our community have benefitted from his advice and encouragement.
