Major Gift Best Practices and Current Philanthropy Trends
Meg George, co-founder and president of consultancy George Philanthropy Group, will lead a session around the implementation of major and principal gift best practices, sharing how our country's philanthropy trends advance an organization's reliance on these skills. As campaign and development counsel to nonprofits across varying sectors which have embarked on significant campaigns initiatives, Meg will offer tangible takeaways and recommendations around the stages of a major gift solicitation, including real-life example asks, frequently-faced challenges in securing visits and navigating face-to-face solicitation conversations. She and her husband co-lead the firm whose work is rooted in a relationship-centric approach to soliciting philanthropic investments, planning for long-term sustainability, and funding initiatives through personalized, deliberate activity.
