DESCRIPTION:AFP Charlotte is proud to offer CFRE continuing education credit for our monthly educational programs. This program aligns with CFRE Domain 5: Leadership and Management by providing insight on sound program evaluation that supports fundraising functions. \n\nNonprofits face constant pressure to communicate the impact of their programs. Proving the impact of your program can be challenging due to data limitations, lack of comparison groups, and financial resource constraints. In this session, we will discuss how you can leverage prior evaluations of similar programs to benchmark your own program, how to credibly evaluate pre- and post-test outcomes without a comparison group, and how surveys of just a dozen program participants can be used to yield meaningful program insights that you can use to report to your funders.\n\nMunro Richardson is Executive Director of Read Charlotte, a community initiative that unites families, educators, and community partners with the goal of improving third grade reading proficiency in Mecklenburg County to 80%. In this role he is responsible for using research, data, and strategic funding to help the community engage in collection action to improve children's language and literacy development from birth through third grade.\n\nMunro joined Read Charlotte as the founding Executive Director in 2015. He has worked in philanthropy for most of the past 25 years. Munro began his career on Capitol Hill where he worked for two United States senators. He worked at two foundations in Kansas City, where he held progressively demanding leadership roles. Read Charlotte is Munro's fifth startup.
