Affinity Group Spotlight
Are you the member of a development team of with only a couple of members? Or perhaps you're the sole development professional in your organization? If so, then the Small Shop affinity group may be just what you're looking for!
In the group's meeting on Tuesday, May 10, we held a vibrant conversation around planned giving in a Small Shop. We walked away with concrete ideas about:
Time management - to ensure that those important planned giving activities are achieved
Marketing materials - testimonials, stories, brochures and direct mail content
Gift acceptance and investment policies - gotta have these in place!
Prospecting and stewardship - best policies for identifying prospects and then stewarding their commitment as legacy donors
Ours was a lively and informative discussion and each member left with new relationships and resources to support us in our work and careers. We hope you'll join us! The next Small Shop affinity group meeting will be held on July 12 at 4:00 pm at Hygge. In that meeting, we'll focus our conversation on Board and Committee Involvement - What Works and What Definitely Doesn't.
We hope to see you at an Affinity Group meeting soon!
Member Confessional
It is such a pleasure to be a part of the AFP - I am always amazed at all the passion everyone brings to their causes and to this group - I have learned that fundraising has many similarities to my role as an Account Manager with Boingo Graphics - I really enjoy the great speakers and informative events, meeting people who truly care about what they are working on and for the opportunity to give back. Thanks for making our community a better place!! Sid Wood
