Member Spotlight: Jane Sanders, Development Associate, Communities in Schools, Charlotte-Mecklenburg

Hi AFP Friends! I hope everyone has had a great summer, and I look forward to seeing you all soon at our next program. This year I was fortunate enough to be awarded the Chamberlain Scholarship to attend the AFP Internati in San Francisco. The sessions, speakers, and networking were all phenomenal. There were so many options for each session. (Our Charlotte attendees had a group text to let each other know if we were in a session that was worth joining highly recommend the group text).
One benefit of the conference for me was meeting development teams from other affiliates within the national network of Communities in Schools. But hands down, the best part was spending time with our Charlotte chapter members--we are fortunate to have each other. I encourage you to take a look at the scholarship opportunities on the website. I came back from the conference energized, refreshed, and excited. It was a real high point in my career thus far. The best career advice I have received in my career was to join AFP. I promise I am not just saying that--this organization and its members have encouraged and motivated me to be a better employee, development teammate, and proponent of my organization's mission.
Do you want to attend next year's AFP International Conference in New Orleans from April 15-17?  If so, apply for an AFP Charlotte Chapter Scholarship before September 30. Visit for more information.

AFP Charlotte Member Forum

As an added benefit for our members, we have a Facebook forum exclusively for members of the AFP Charlotte Chapter! The purpose of this members-only group is to provide a forum for members to ask questions, give feedback, and provide advice, etc. for others in the group. We have varying levels of expertise and experience, so we can all benefit from the wealth of knowledge within this group!  It's also a great opportunity to network with your fundraising peers.

If you're on Facebook, please search for "AFP Charlotte Member Forum," and ask to join the group.
