Member Spotlight: Terry Albanese
Senior Development Officer, Teen Health Connection

"To me, the benefits of being an AFP member are numerous. This year I am excited to have an all-new Development Team and, although I had already taken the course in the past, my team and I will be participating in the AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising course as a team-building experience. I see this as a great opportunity to help my new team understand the fundamentals as they relate specifically to our organization, providing a great platform for discussion and a bonding experience as we prepare for all we need to accomplish in 2018 and beyond."
Terry has been actively involved in AFP Charlotte since 2015 and involved in other AFP chapters for ten years. She is now an active member and a regular face at several of AFP's affinity groups a free benefit to members.
"A few years back, I struggled to find the time to attend the affinity groups on a regular basis and felt a bit disconnected from my colleagues, but over the last year I decided to make it a priority. Since then, I have been actively involved in several affinity groups, and I find great value in attending. To me, it's about networking, forging closer relationships with my colleagues in the field, feeling connected to the profession, sharing ideas, knowledge and expertise, and simply having a sounding board you can rely on related to the topical areas. I encourage my team to participate and, between all of us, we attend every affinity group available."
