CFRE Study Group Participants Achieve Certification

Congratulations to members of the 2014 AFP Charlotte CFRE Study Group for passing their examinations this past fall:
  • Benjamin Pendry, Director of Development for Student Affairs & Special Projects, UNC Charlotte
  • Keatley Scroggins, Director of Parent Giving, Davidson College
  • Tony Marciano, Executive Director, Charlotte Rescue Mission
AFP Charlotte offers this customized study group for members to form a learning cohort in preparation for the examination.  The CFRE certification process consists of three parts: a written application, a written examination consisting of 200 multiple choice questions, and agreement to uphold a code of ethics and Accountability Standards.
The study group wished to issue the following word of thanks: "The CFRE class of 2014 is very grateful to Josh Jacobson for his leadership in organizing and facilitating the CFRE discussion classes. His simple, yet profound wisdom (the first thing you do is take the cap off the pen) proved fruitful to all those who took the test.  His guidance has made us better fundraisers which has helped strengthen our nonprofit sector, making us a better community."
Information about the 2015 iteration of the program will be forthcoming in the New Year, with a start-up anticipated in March 2015.
