Thank you for helping make National Philanthropy Day (NPD) 2018 such a wonderful event. We hope you found the honorees, their stories and their capacity to change the world with a giving heart inspiring. And, speaking of giving hearts, we would like to take this opportunity to, once again, thank our sponsors. NPD would not be possible without their generosity, and we appreciate their support in making NPD a success:

Member Spotlight: Mary Ann Thomas
Executive Director, Mary Ann Thomas Nonprofit Consulting

"AFP is a fantastic resource for training and discovering best practices for nonprofit organizations. I love to collaborate, and AFP introduced to me a wonderful network of individuals who were open and willing to share their wealth of knowledge and experiences with me."
Mary Ann has been actively involved in AFP Charlotte since she started her first nonprofit development job at The Men's Shelter of Charlotte in 2011. At her manager's encouragement, Mary Ann joined the National Philanthropy Day Committee then. Still an active member, Mary Ann now leads AFP Charlotte's Small Shop Affinity Group.
"I participate in the affinity groups to give back and share my experiences with other development professionals. For me it is an opportunity for continuing education. When a challenge arises with one of my clients I often say, let's reach out and see what other organizations are doing. My experience has been that there are so many nonprofit professionals that work together and recognize that here is no need to compete with each other. I am inspired by the willingness to share ideas and best practices."
