A Letter from AFP Charlotte President Robert Touchstone

[Image]It's hard to believe it's already July. I am always excited at this time of year, as it is a time of new beginnings (aka "a new fiscal year" for me at work). It's a time to recharge my batteries and start anew. I hope each of you have space in your worlds for this type of reflection...evaluating your successes, learning from challenges and taking time to plan for the future. I also hope you have a little time to enjoy the summer and take some much deserved breaks. As fundraisers, we work tirelessly year-round to make our organization's mission possible.

Please remember to take care of yourself and work in practices to reflect, learn and grow. Part of that work for me is meeting up with other fundraisers like you to learn about what's working for them and their organizations. So, I challenge you all to make one new professional connection each month over the next 6 months of 2022. I'll even be one of those people for you. Just send me an email to robert.touchstone@artsandscience.org.

I know this work will continue to help us grow and uplift the work we are all doing in the community.

Robert Touchstone, CFRE

AFP Charlotte has built a reputation for getting the word out for the premier fundraising jobs across the Carolinas. Click here to read more and apply for a posted position.

In order to promote gender and racial pay equity, AFP is leading the way and will be requiring salary ranges for all new positions posted on the AFP Charlotte Job Board effective May 10, 2021. We understand this might be a significant change for some organizations, but AFP Charlotte strongly believes this is an important shift in increasing equity, inclusion and fairness in the fundraising profession.
