AFP Government Relations Update
Have you read AFP's position on the repeal of the Johnson Amendment, which prohibits charities from engaging in electoral politics and raising funds for political candidates? Click here for more information.

Heading to the AFP International Fundraising Conference in San Francisco this spring? If so, please join us Monday, May 1 for happy hour with the AFP Charlotte member attendees!
We will be meeting at Jamber Wine Pub, located just two blocks from Moscone Conference Center.
Jamber is San Francisco's first wine pub, serving wine on tap, beer on draft and "local American comfort food." With 24 California wines and 14 California beers all on tap, you're sure to find something local to enjoy! We will have an area set aside in the bar for our group at 5:30pm, so please join us for fun and fellowship with the Charlotte chapter before heading to the "Dine Around San Francisco" event or out for your other evening plans!
Please RSVP by April 12 to Jane Sanders if you plan to attend or have any questions! AFP Charlotte will provide light snacks for the group as well as a beverage for the first 15 people to join us at Jamber. We'll see you there!

About Planned Giving?

Join the North Carolina Planned Giving Council for its annual Charlotte meeting with an education-filled day focused on planned giving, donor relations, stewardship and major gifts.
Wayne Olson will lead 3 sessions focused on easy ways to integrate planned giving into your fundraising program, how Disney can serve as a model for donor relations with legacy donors, and how donor relations led to a planned gift. Wayne's informative and entertaining style both teaches and engages an audience and is sure to be one of the most interesting and enjoyable presentations you will attend this year. His presentations are applicable to new fundraisers as well as seasoned professionals.
Wayne Olson is the president and owner of Wayne Olson Consulting LLC, where he advises charities on fundraising, capital campaigns and planned giving. He is the author of three books on fundraising, including Big Gifts Small Effort, which is designed to help charities, fundraisers and boards understand and use planned giving in their programs. His specialty is donor relations and explaining planned giving and all fundraising in easy-to-understand terms.
