In fundraising there are many challenges we all share. How can I increase the number of first time donors? How can I increase the effectiveness of this appeal? What can I do to make our gala more successful? These challenges are going to differ from organization to organization.

To help our members deal with these challenges AFP Charlotte created the affinity group program. The goal of this program is to connect development professionals that face similar challenges. Check out our home page or the column to your left for upcoming affinity group meeting dates, more details and registration links.

Annual Giving

Annual giving is one of the most important areas in an organization's fundraising efforts. Development Officers with a focus on annual giving are encouraged to join this group to share best practices, dos and don'ts, how to grow your annual giving program and so much more...  All levels of experience are welcome.

Major Gifts

If you spend at least 50% of your time raising gifts of $5,000 or more then please join fellow major gifts officers to discuss best practices, strategies and ideas around key topics.

Small Shop

This forum roundtable discussion is for people who work in a small development shop of less than three people and would like to share ideas and best practices with colleagues.

January Meeting with Michael Rose

With experience including education, agency and three major health care organizations, Michael Rose has a broad understanding of what it takes to be successful in the not for profit environment. He is innovative, futuristic in his thinking and highly skilled in building relationships. Well read and informed Michael knows the business of philanthropy and is an expert in helping to position organizations for maximum success.

During his career Michael has been involved in generating approximately one half billion dollars in philanthropic donations and related resources. Regardless of the size of the gift, Michael has always made certain that every donor has understood the importance of their gift and the difference it made for the people it benefited. We are excited to hear him speak on Emotional Intelligence in January.

Please check our website after the holidays for the confirmed meeting date and registration link.
