President's Letter

If you're like me, the post-holiday crush of meetings and deadlines is finally slowing down a bit and life is returning to "normal" (whatever that means).  As we all settle in to the year, I hope you will consider prioritizing your engagement with your local AFP chapter this year. The Charlotte Chapter's Board of Directors is excited by the many
programs, affinity groups and initiatives we're undertaking this year, and look forward to seeing you out for them.
Of special note is our growing partnership with SHARE Charlotte. In April, current and past board members of AFP Charlotte will collaborate on a Fundraising Bootcamp as a part of SHARE Charlotte's Innovation Lab series. And later this year, our National Philanthropy Day Luncheon will take place on Giving Tuesday (November 28). We are excited to be able use the platform to champion the work of SHARE Charlotte to increase giving to area nonprofits.
Remember that this is your chapter, and it is only as strong as the nonprofit professionals who engage with it. Thank you for all you do to sustain and grow Charlotte's nonprofit community.

Lunch Session: Donor Love: Forever and a Day

Love #DonorLove with Agents of Good
10:30 am - 11:30 am | CPCC Harris Campus

Let's explore the crucial connection between your annual fundraising program and your legacy program. We'll share successful case studies and examples of #donorlove in action from Canada and around the world. You'll learn how to find and share amazing stories that resonate with values and emotions, and that will inspire your donors at every vital stage in your relationship. You'll leave with ideas you can implement tomorrow, and strategies you can build into your brightest fundraising future!
Agent Jen Love is a storyteller. And not in a poetic sense. In a fumbling, arm-waving, half-sentence-speaking, let's-get-to-the-heart-and-the-feelings sense. Write drunk, edit sober...even if you're only drunk on emotions. Inhaling an attitude of gratitude and exhaling #donorlove, Jen's title is Partner at Agents of Good, a collective of donor champions. John Lepp is a partner at Agents of Good, a collective of passionate and game changing fundraisers who spend most of their day championing your donors and telling great stories. Register here.
